Clear terms for a useful property record.

Version 1.0 • Effective 8 August 2026

The short version

Tynevolt Passport is a free digital record during its launch phase. It helps you find electrical records, files and reminder dates, but it does not replace an electrical certificate, inspection or professional safety advice. Keep your link and PIN separate, tell us if something is wrong, and contact us if access may have been exposed. Your statutory rights are not affected.

1. Who provides the Passport?

Tynevolt Passport is provided by Tynevolt Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 17331271. Our registered office is 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. You can contact us at info@tynevolt.co.uk.

2. When these terms apply

These terms apply when you open or use a Tynevolt Passport. They govern the Passport service only. A quotation, contract, guarantee, certificate or other terms for electrical work are separate. When you tick the agreement box and successfully unlock a Passport, you agree to the version shown above. We record the Passport reference, terms version, date and a pseudonymised security record as evidence of that agreement.

3. What the Passport does

The Passport brings together property details, electrical work records, documents, photographs and useful reminder dates. It lets an authorised user view and download information and ask Tynevolt for a correction. We will provide the digital service with reasonable care and skill.

Important electrical-safety limit

A Passport is a record, not a live safety-monitoring service. It does not prove that an installation is currently safe and does not replace an Electrical Installation Certificate, Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate, Electrical Installation Condition Report, inspection, testing or advice from a competent electrician. A reminder date is not a guarantee that work is due or safe to delay. If you suspect danger, do not wait for a Passport reminder: keep clear, switch off power only if it is safe to do so, and seek appropriate emergency or professional help.

4. Cost during launch

Customer access to the Passport is free during the launch phase. Electrical work and other services may still be charged under a separate quotation or contract. Tynevolt will not introduce a charge for your Passport access or take payment for it unless we first explain the proposed charge and you expressly agree. If you do not agree, you may request a copy of your information and closure of your access.

5. Your access and responsibilities

  • Keep the long Passport link and six-digit PIN separate and share them only with a person you trust to see the property record.
  • Tell Tynevolt promptly if either access item may have been exposed, if the property changes hands, or if an authorised person should no longer have access. We can revoke and replace access.
  • Do not try to access another property, bypass security, disrupt the service, introduce harmful material or use the Passport unlawfully.
  • Check important information against the original certificate or a competent electrician before relying on it for safety decisions, legal duties or a property transaction.

6. Records and documents

Please tell us if a record is incomplete or appears wrong. Tynevolt will take reasonable steps to correct information it controls. Some documents are produced by other contractors, certification bodies, landlords, agents or previous owners; Tynevolt is not responsible for an inaccuracy it could not reasonably identify, but we will record or investigate a concern you raise.

Rights in a document remain with its original owner or rights holder. Providing a document for the Passport gives Tynevolt permission to store, reproduce and display it only as reasonably needed to operate the Passport and provide the service. You must be entitled to provide anything you ask us to add. Keep original certificates and any other documents you may need; the Passport should not be your only copy.

7. Availability, maintenance and security

We use proportionate security and take reasonable care to keep the Passport available. New files are checked against their actual type, fingerprinted for integrity and given a private recovery copy. Maintenance, faults, internet failures, urgent security work or events outside our reasonable control may interrupt access. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may temporarily suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect customers, records or the service, comply with law or investigate misuse. We will restore access as soon as reasonably practical.

8. Ending or transferring access

You can ask Tynevolt to close your access at any time. If the property is sold, let us know so we can revoke old credentials, deal properly with personal contact information and issue suitable access for the new authorised person. Data deletion is handled under the privacy notice; some proportionate electrical, legal, insurance or claim records may need to be kept.

If Tynevolt decides to withdraw the Passport service generally, we will give reasonable notice and a reasonable opportunity to request an export, unless urgent security, legal or technical circumstances make that impossible.

9. If something goes wrong

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of your statutory rights, or anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude or restrict. If you use the Passport as a consumer, Tynevolt is responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

Tynevolt is not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business loss arising from personal or domestic use, or for loss caused by your misuse, your avoidable disclosure of the link or PIN, or circumstances outside our reasonable control. This does not reduce any responsibility Tynevolt has under applicable law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may make a fair change for security, law, technology or to improve the service. We will date the new version, explain a material change clearly and ask you to accept the new terms before a later Passport session. A change will not remove rights or remedies that already arose under an earlier version.

11. Law, complaints and your rights

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection given by the law and courts of the place where you live. These terms do not affect statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Please email info@tynevolt.co.uk if you have a problem so we can investigate and try to put it right. You can also seek independent advice from Citizens Advice or another appropriate consumer body. Privacy concerns and data-protection rights are explained separately in our privacy notice.
